Status is not the outcome

“It ran” and “it worked” are two different things. Most of my job is knowing the difference.

I started at Hancod as a Business Analyst intern, writing FSDs, HFDs and FRDs across 12+ product modules and coordinating UAT and defect triage between design, engineering and QA. A build that passes every test case can still miss what the business asked for, so the spec and the check have to be written together.

Now, as a Growth Manager Trainee, I see the same gap from the other side. A campaign can launch on time and still bring nobody. A page can load and still not convert.

FinChat taught me the sharpest version of it. For about a week, my scheduled missions were recorded as successful while some of the briefs they sent were error messages. The old code trusted whatever text the agent handed back. The fix, shipped in a day, makes delivery check how each run actually ended, as recorded in the database. Runs went from 29% successful the week before to 100% over the next four and a half days.

That’s the habit I bring to every product: decide what “worked” means before you build, then check the real result, not the report.
